Screening The Overpass Light Brigade - Working Horses

  • Electrical Industry Center Auditorium 158-11 Harry Van Arsdale Jr. Avenue Flushing, NY 11365 United States (map)

This night we will screen a short, The Overpass Light Brigade, about creating "the people's bandwidth." The feature film that night will be a brand new film on the horse carriage controversy in NYC, called Working Horses. The directors will be present for Q &A.

Overpass Light Brigade is a short documentary film by Dusan Harminc and Matt Mullins. It has been screened nationally including the Marfa Film Festival, The Woods Hole Film Festival, and the PBS Online Film Festival. Read more about the film at OLB Movie.

Working Horses takes a look at three different groups of people who spend their lives working for and around horses: farmers, working folk, and animal rights activists. The three worlds eventually collide in New York City as the city considers a ban on the local horse carriage trade.
